The Department of psychology was established in the academic year 2015-2016 to offer an undergraduate degree in Psychology. The main important concept of psychology is the study of human behavior and mind. Studying psychology can help students in understanding self as well as to succeed in whatever profession they choose. The coursework of psychology make it easy for students understand and gain experience in the core elements of psychology and to help in setting and achieving unique interests and goals.

         The department Association “Manasu” started in the year 2017. Department Association organizes workshops, seminars, guest lectures to empower the students on various topics in psychology. Students are encouraged to participate in seminars, workshops conducted by different colleges and universities and brought laurels to the department by participating & winning in competitions conducted by other colleges.

To promote the importance of the role of psychology in advancing human welfare. 

To provide career required knowledge and skills in diverse psychological areas.

To provide basic knowledge and skills for advance programs in psychology.

PROGRAMME SPECIFIC OUTCOMES (PSO)

On completion of the programme, the students will be able to:

PSO1:  Demonstrate strong theoretical knowledge in the basic concepts of Psychology

PSO2:  Pursuing higher studies in the specialized fields of Psychology such as clinical, organizational,  educational etc

PSO3: Think original and versatile through the gained understanding in the principles of psychology for their life progress.

PSO4: Use their acquired knowledge to identify solutions for life problems for their life enhancement

PSO5: Make use of interpersonal, intrapersonal and communication skills in self understanding and team work by means of psychology

PSO6: Turn out as responsible citizens by serving the society and Saving the environment through

the application of acquired psychological principles, techniques and practical skills.
