MAJOR CHANGES DONE IN BOARD OF STUDIES MEETING OF SOCIAL WORK
The following major changes have been incorporated in the syllabus
1. Field work Practicum (I Semester)
- In 10 days Skill lab sessions, it is recommended to add 5 days of Basic English and communication – To improve their basic communication which will help them in documentation and reporting.
2. The following papers were introduced
- In Semester II Social Ethics and values – This Course has been introduced as EDC- To imbibe social values and ethics in day today life and which will make them professional social worker with human values.
- In Semester III Social Work Administration and Social Legislation – The two papers Social work administration and Social policy and legislation were combined as one paper – to develop administration skills and will help them to work at the policy level and planning.
- In Semester III Disability Empowerment – This course has been introduced as EDC- Empowering Disabled is the need of the hour, social workers will learn to work with person with disability.
- In Semester IV Mental Disorders – This course has been introduced as one of the course in Medical and Psychiatric Specialization.- In this paper, various psychiatric disorders, causes, symptoms and treatments will be learned which will enhance them to work in medical and psychiatric settings.
- In Semester IV Sustainable Development and Social Change – This paper has been introduced as one of the course in Community Development and Empowerment Specialization – community Development specialization students will be able to plan programme based on sustainable development for the sustainable growth of Nation.
